This is a hidden gem in uptown whittier. The owners Justin and Juan Carlos make you feel right at home. They bring all the flavors from Latin America together just right. There is always specials highlighting different styles of food. The menu is always changing,  which keeps me coming back... this is my all-time favorite restaurant. I have had just about everything on the menu, and nothing has ever disappointed.

We came on a Sunday afternoon, for Carne Asada tacos, only to be told they were all out of Carne Asada.  Ordered a couple of Micheladas, and they were Prepared sloppily and set on the table in front of us Without a napkin. My glass had the orange salt all over the sides, so when I took a drink, it was all over my hands, and a lot of liquid all over the table. I know that everybody makes them differently, but these did not look appealing at all. They were sort of brownish, no ice, and just sloppy looking. Would've been nice if they put some effort into the presentation.  Have a look at the photo I took and make up your own mind. The real shock was when we received the bill and saw that they were nine dollars apiece.

The tacos we ordered were decent size, tasty and priced right.

I thank you for your honesty in the amount of fruit used in the dish. I do, however, feel that as a customer, the less I ask for extra things the more satisfied I am with my dish and dining experience.  For example,  I shouldn't ask for more fruit or more syrup. It would be best to receive a plate that surpasses other restaurants with the amount of fruit served as well as receiving a syrup bottle for my waffles.  By doing so, customers would give a positive reaction as opposed to smh reaction asking (that's all the fruit? Where's the rest of the syrup? ) when receiving the strawberry and banana waffle dish.

In reference to your vegan reply, it's sad that the only accommodation you were able to make was to remove the egg and the queso fresco- which you indicated it's what makes the whole dish better- and charge the same price.   You might want to consider having the following a la carte items on your menu: toast with guacamole and possibly "hash brown" to accommodate up and coming  vegan customers which will increase your new and "returning" business clientele.

This review is long overdue but I've had the pleasure of dining here twice already and am completely in love with the food here! Great, friendly service and staff, fresh ingredients and meals that do not taste processed one bit! I've had the tinga tacos, chorizo de res, barbacoa, empanadas de vegetal (veggie empanada), papas fritas, empanada de pollo, alitas de pollo (chicken wings) the sampler, my God everything has been delicious and all made very authentic and home style! The desserts are also a must try. I will definitely be back for more and soon!

Oh, the tacos... First let me say, this place is not a Mexican food place. This is more of a South American food place. I would recommend all of the tacos but the barbacoa.
I am not a fan of barbacoa and they did not look as appetizing as the rest. My favorite taco there is the chorizo. That's a winner all day long.
